02 HDF and HMR questions
HDF and HMR questions
What do HDF grades No.1, No.2 and No.3 mean?
They are the supplier's quality grades. No.1 has no damage. No.2 has some damage and No.3 a little more. All three are usable boards; pick the grade that suits the job and the budget.
What is HMR board?
HMR means high moisture resistant. It is made for places that get wet or humid, such as kitchens and bathrooms, where ordinary MDF would swell. We hold it in 15mm and 18mm.
What is the difference between HDF and MDF?
HDF is denser and harder than MDF, so it resists dents and wear better. MDF is lighter and easier to machine for detailed cabinet work. Ask us which suits your job.
Which waterproof board should I use for kitchen cabinets?
Waterproof HMR board in 15 or 18mm, or PVC eco board (Shri or Green) for areas that get very wet. See eco board and which board for pantry cupboards.
